Whenever I really love a character in a book, I wonder what I would do if I were in their shoes. My friend Emily got the chance to do just that!
It was a bad news, good news kind of situation. On Christmas Eve, Emily broke her arm.
That’s the bad news!
But then, on Christmas Day, she was transformed into a Riley Mae look-alike, complete with an orange cast on her right arm! (And the braids are a nice touch too, Emily!)
If you’ve read Riley Mae and the Ready Eddy Rapids, you know that Riley ends up wearing an orange cast on her right arm. If you haven’t read it yet, we won’t tell how that happens, or why she picks the color orange. Let’s just say it’s a pretty special reason, and it makes me smile whenever I think about it.
Now I’ll smile whenever I think of Emily!
